As Christians we are often told to "just have faith" or maybe pray a little harder as if the trials of life we face should be easy to navigate if you just recite the right words. But sometimes the journey we are given is filled with obstacles intended for our growth but painful to endure, and the last thing you want to hear is another well meaning cliché or unsympathetic pat on the back. You'd rather hear someone be honest and say "me too" or "I've been there and know just how you feel". If you are looking for a book that fixes your life in 5 easy steps, helps you get the best parking space or that job promotion you aren't qualified for, this book probably isn't for you. If you believe the Christian walk is just a matter of living victoriously from one mountain top to another without an occasional valley of death or den of lions, well, again, this probably isn't for you. This book is a collection of raw, honest responses to those challenges that attack us unexpectedly and knock us off course and leave us shaken to the core. These reflections are for those of us who have had to face life-changing situation, illness, health issues, addictions, divorce, unemployment, depression, and struggled to reconcile faith in the unseen to feelings and emotions attached to real life issues. It's not an answer book for every situation but rather an attempt to offer a virtual hug and say "yep, me too", and together find answers in what we know to be the truth.
