In today’s world, many are searching for purpose in life. People wonder if God exists, or if He is simply a figment of the imagination of those who need a crutch. If God exists, does He care about people or is He a heartless rogue?

The Bible clearly shows that Jesus Christ came to reveal what God is like and to demonstrate that God cares deeply about people. Jesus, God’s beloved Son, is described as the Good Shepherd who laid down His life for His sheep. Jesus died to pay for sins that keep us separated from a holy God. Because of Jesus’ sacrificial death, we can be forgiven and be brought into a close relationship with God.

The Good Shepherd invites all to become His sheep. Those who respond to Jesus’ invitation will experience a life-change now and will inherit heaven for all of eternity.

The first section of this book tells how you can become one of Jesus’ sheep and have eternal life. It uses Bible quotations to build an understanding of God and what separates us from Him. It describes Jesus as the Good Shepherd sent to pay for our sin and draw people into a knowledge of God and a personal relationship with Him. It walks the reader through steps to be forgiven, be saved from punishment for sin, and enter God’s eternal family.

The second section of the book tells how to live well as one of God’s sheep. We learn that by God’s grace, we will possess a passion and take steps to grow in our relationship with the Good Shepherd. We learn to focus our minds on heavenly things, communicate with the Good Shepherd, and learn to hear and follow our Shepherd. We begin a new life that grows ever closer to the Good Shepherd throughout our time on earth.

This book is written by a man of eight decades on this earth, who raised sheep in his high school years. With understanding of the helpless nature of sheep, he helps the reader see how we cannot in ourselves merit eternal life. We need to come under the provisions of the Good Shepherd to receive eternal life and enter heaven. The author walks the reader through the gate into the sheepfold and provides guidance on how as His sheep to hear and follow the Good Shepherd.

This book can be a valuable tool for presenting God’s good news to people who might be looking for a purposeful and hopeful life. It also challenges new believers to grow into spiritual maturity.
