On April 28, 2006, as he lay in his hospital bed in Ann Arbor, Michigan, visions of celestial beauty were the last thing on Marv Besteman's mind. Alone and racked with pain, Marv tossed and turned, wanting more than anything else to simply sleep and escape the misery and discomfort for a while. The retired banker, father, and grandfather had no idea he was about to get a short reprieve in the form of an experience he never could have imagined.

In My Journey to Heaven, Marv Besteman shares the story of his experience of heaven with astounding detail. Listeners will hear of his encounters with angels who accompanied him to the gate, his conversation (argument, really) with St. Peter, and his recognition of friends and family members who touched his life. His story offers peace, comfort, and encouragement to those who have lost loved ones and gives security and solace to those who are grieving, dying, or wonder about the afterlife.

Marv believed God sent him back to earth to fulfill this mission of comfort and reminds readers that God has work for each of us to do before he calls us to be with him in heaven. Secure in his belief that his book was the fulfillment of his own mission, Marv returned to heaven in January 2012.

Heaven will be wonderful!!

Several of his life references struck home with me. The happiness of loved ones passed and the expectation of life with Jesus and them when my time on earth is over!

I enjoyed listening to this book about Heaven. As a Christian, I would sometimes question if I'd even make it to Heaven. I have clarity and hope!

Edifying, encouraging, filled with hope .

Filled with hope of heaven. I can see it with every description of it. I Will Be There. Thanks for sharing your moment in heaven which gives us hope and longing to be there when our time is up here on the side of eternity. The narrator did a great job, the dramatic voice and imagination of the voice. I would want to listen more of this narrator's audio narration.

Seemed liked a conversation!

This book felt like we were having a conversation about Heaven and the author was sitting across from me! The narrator had the perfect voice - I actually thought it was the author until I heard the prologue.

What an amazing story of one man's unexpected journey to heaven. It not only changed his life, but so many others as well. He thought it would be something he'd only share with his wife, but then it became apparent that he was meant to share it with others. He spoke of his experience to large groups of people and brought joy, hope and comfort to many.

This was the perfect narrator for the story and truly left you feeling as though you were having a conversation with the author.

He is transparent and lovely in the telling. I would recommend this book to anyone!

A Reassuring Message About Life After Life

I appreciate Marv’s book about what awaits us in Glory and the reminder of all God’s promises to us. I lost my son when he was 16 years old. God heard my mother’s prayers and made a way for me to see him one last time. In those early hours of dawn, when it isn’t dark but not quite light, the morning after David’s funeral, I opened my eyes to see him standing by my bed. He was full of a golden light and looked so healthy and happy. He had a fullness of life that he didn’t have on earth. He said to me with deep reverence, “oh mom, it’s so awesome, so sweet, it’s better than anything you could ever imagine.” Now when I think of my son, I remember the blessing of being his mother and I picture him in Glory, surrounded by love.

I love the way the author shares his experience without trying to sensationalize it.
I really enjoyed the narrator of this audible version.
