It's not a tell-all written to set the record straight or to justify decisions made. Rather it's a private glimpse of how Jesus walks people through the darkness. It's a unique view of his mercies in the face of our failures. It's a reminder that when one walks through the valley of the shadow, God is with us and he won't let us go.

Well written

Instead of deconstructing her faith, she ends up purifying her faith, even after a major scandal that wrecked her home and family’s ministry. She came out as pure gold purified through the fires.

terrible reading great story

while the story is amazing, the reader is CRINGE WORTHY! Monotone to no end!

Focused on Jesus

Love that this story isn’t a tell tale story of the horrific situation Cindy Hyles Schaap (pronounced Skop) found herself in, but rather she focused in on how the Lord got her through it all. Encouraging!!

I only wish the reader was familiar enough w/the author and the Bible to know how to pronounce things and read things. The author’s last name is consistently mispronounced as is Naaman, a man in a Biblical account of God’s magnificent healing. When a Bible reference is listed w/a comma between verses, it’s much more understandable to say “and” at the comma, just as you say “through” for a dash. (ie John 3:4,5 “John 3 verses 4 and 5)

Appalling narrator

The narrator makes this very hard to get through, with a tortured cadence and rampant mispronunciations, including the author’s name, which is inexcusable.

Convicting of God’s love and grace.

I was greatly moved by Cindy’s story of her journey to Grace. I have known Cindy for a long time. She is one of my top five favorite authors. She continues to point to the Scriptures and to her (our) Friend. Thank you, Cindy, for your candid and unabridged account of your realization of God’s eternal faithfulness and goodness towards His children.
