This book is me sharing my journey of gratitude the last five years, I would have never thought five years ago as I was leaving my job to start my first construction business that one day I will be writing a book on Gratitude. I was always living the fast life; my mind was always running at a 1000 thoughts per minute it felt like at times. I was always easily annoyed, and it seemed like the world around me had more control over me than I did on myself. I started practicing gratitude after being very skeptical towards the practice for a while because my mentor who suggested it to me was always happy, living a beautiful like and he always seemed so invincible to me. When he shared his secret to his happiness with me one day, I couldn't believe it. It seemed too good to be true, too simple. I was thinking, if this simple practice is the key to happiness then why isn't everyone trying it? I decide to give it a try, I told myself I was going to give it 90 days and see what happens. I started saying three things I am grateful for in my life every morning when I opened my eyes. I would say, "I am so happy & grateful for…” I would say the first thing that came to mind, I did that three times and I would get up and go about my day. The first few weeks felt so weird every morning when I would do this little practice, so many thoughts would arise, so much conditioning I had towards these types of practices, deep in my core, I didn’t want to believe, a simple practice like this could really effect my mood and my attitude. I was wrong though, thankfully I listened to my mentor and stayed consistent those first 90 days. The most amazing things started to happen after 60/70 days of practicing gratitude every morning when I was waking up. I noticed I was starting to feel happier, more joyful and upbeat through my days. I noticed, a lot of things that used to trigger me, wasn’t triggering me anymore. I was starting to feel so much enthusiasm towards my business, my life, my relationships and everything else in my life.
