It looks like a radio, but instead of producing music, the object transports Cara Gillespie and her mother back over a century to the time of bushrangers, gold-miners, convicts and rough justice. They meet Steven, an apprentice blacksmith, and come to rely on him - and in Cara's case, these emotions soon become deeper.
