The Early Years

Mountain of My Dreams is a potentially six-book memoir (the first three books have been published) that tells the story of my family's decision to leave the suburbs in the early 1980s and move to beautiful Rappahannock County, Virginia to start a wholesale nursery. It is a story about a dream, a marriage, a family and endless adventures that often took the family out of their comfort zone. Unlike many back-to-the-land stories that follow a family for a year or two, we are still living the dream nearly fifty years later. Come along on our many adventures, as well as an equal number of misadventures. Through it all, the family pulled together to make it work.
No longer youngsters, our children have their own families, leaving Sandra and I blessed with 8 grandchildren all living within a 20-minute drive of the mountain of my dreams.
