Resumen del Editor

Throughout history, there have been rare individuals who transcend what most of us believe to be possible: enlightened beings who have access to experience and knowledge most of us do not have. The Indian-born avatar Mother Meera is such an individual. Born Kamala Reddy to an illiterate family, she was, from a young age, observed to be different from other children - she would sit in the forest for hours on end without moving or uttering a word and soon began attracting a following of devotees who would arrive to sit in her presence.

Believed to be an embodiment of the Divine Feminine, she doesn't preach, speak, or charge money, and is of no particular religion; instead, she gives light to those who seek her help. Known throughout the world for her abilities to undo "energetic knots" and to radically quicken the spiritual development of others, she has a center in Germany, where thousands of people visit her each month to receive her famous darshan, a silent blessing, and she has established a school in India for more than a thousand of the neediest students in the region.

If you’re on the path…

This is a great book to remember that we are just here as divine beings. That we aren’t be asked of but really to let go so we can be kinder to our self and others and enjoy this life.

Sensitively Handled. Just Right.

I had read the intro on the author's website and was very interested in reading the book--but it exceeded my expectations. Mark Matousek does justice to a topic that he had felt great trepidation about approaching. Mother Meera rarely speaks, and when she does, it's brief and enigmatic. There were multiple-year gaps in Mr. Matousek's contact with her. Nonetheless, he manages to convey a sense of Mother Meera's personality, what it's like to be around her, and how it is that she seems to be, is, functions as, something more than human, an avatar even. In doing so, he occasionally touches on and elucidates the meaning of the divine feminine.

Initially I thought the narrator had a slight speech impediment ("s" pronounced as "sh" or with a slight hiss), but I soon forgot that as I got involved in the story. The narration was fine. Good enough.
