The story is good but the performance is lacking

I almost did not continue listening simply because the intonation and cadence of the speaker was throwing me off. I forced myself to continue listening and get engaged with the story simply because I have been curious about Banana Yoshimoto, this was my first title by her. I did end up liking this story, and I think next I will try Lizard. It has an interesting take on unique grief experience

Sweet story

Lovely calm tone. Simple story very typical of Banana. A serene listen detailing everyday live and thinking, following the suicide of her father and her journey into adulthood womanhood.
