I’m Ross Kelly, one of Stormy’s closest friends. Tucker and Callum are the other two in our group. We all grew up here in Gusty Rock and the four of us have always been friends.
The guys are like brothers, but they don’t really know my family life. They think they do, and they know most of it. But there are secrets they aren’t aware of. That no one’s aware of with one exception, my little sister, Shelby. My parents knew once upon a time, but they’re both dead now.
I miss Mom, but not Dad. He doesn’t deserve being missed. The secrets have to do with that, but I’m not getting into it. It’s in the past and not worth revisiting. My sister is safe and happy. She’s doing well and that’s all that matters. She has me and I have her, we’re good.
I dread the day she tells me that she’s found a guy. He better be worthy of her or he’ll be getting chased off by an angry big brother. I’m not letting Shelby get messed up with the wrong man, it’s never happening. She’ll hate me for it, but it won’t last. She needs me too much, we’re all each other has.
Hopefully Shelby listens to me and waits for her instant connection, the man God has prepared for her. That’s what I’m doing, and I won’t accept anything less. She’s going to show up eventually, and I’m not messing around with anyone else until I find her.
There’s another secret I haven’t told the guys about. I’ve been looking for her online. I have so many accounts in every social media app out there. Waiting around for her to show up in this town isn’t working, and going out into the world searching for her isn’t something I’m able to do with work obligations. But technology is awesome, it does the going out there for me.
I work for Stormy’s dad on his fishing boat. I got the job right out of high school. I was going to do something in the high tech world but Stormy pointed out that I needed to stay physically active. He was right, sitting at a desk all day would drive me crazy. I struggled all through school, continuing that struggle with my career wasn’t a smart move.
So my love of computers is a hobby and fishing is my career. It’s a good job and I do stay busy. I wear myself out so that I can spend my evenings enjoying my hobby without it driving me crazy. Unfortunately, it’s still driving me crazy lately.
Why? Well because with all the accounts on all the platforms I’m having no luck whatsoever.
You see, I’ve been praying for God to lead her to me. I don’t know how he plans to make that happen, but I know he will. Whether it’s online or here in Gusty Rock, he’s going to make it happen. I have faith that he will, and I’m not giving up on him.
I’m not going to resort to using some service to find someone that’s not as good as who he has in store for me. I want that woman, the one he made for me. No one else will do, it has to be her.
If it’s not her, then I’m not interested. I will stay true to her and wait for her to find me. I’ll know her instantly, just like everyone else that’s found their perfect match. Until I see her and my soul recognizes her I’m going to just keep waiting for her.
I’ll keep spending my every spare moment looking for her. Because she’s worth it. Just because I haven’t found her yet, that doesn’t mean she’s any less important to me. She’s already my world, and I’ll spend my life searching for her until I find her.
When I do find her, I’ll spend the rest of my life cherishing and protecting her. My every move will be to please her and to make her happy. I will be everything my father wasn’t, but should have been. My woman will know without a doubt that she is absolutely loved unconditionally for the rest of her life, just as soon as I find her…
