Hi, I’m Rainy Morning. Yup, that’s my real name. I used to hate it a lot more, but I’ve given up caring. It is what it is, and someday I’ll get married. Then my last name will change and it won’t be so horrendous anymore. At least I’m not alone in my misery. My brothers, Stormy and Sunny, are in the same boat as me. Our lucky sister, Windy, is now Windy Monroe. It gives me hope, if not a bit of jealousy.
I’m the third of four kids, Stormy’s my only younger sibling. The four of us bought a duplex together and opened a sweet shop together. We were all super close and did everything together. Then Windy got married and moved out. Sunny left the duplex next and now it’s just Stormy and me left.
My job at the sweet shop is to make all the cookies, pastries, and scones. My cookies are my real specialty and they’re pretty popular. Not as much as Windy’s muffins and cupcakes, but they have their own fan club.
It’s been a while since I went on a date. A few guys from church have taken me on dates, but none felt right so I didn’t accept a second one from them. Then after watching Windy and Sunny find their perfect match I decided I should know right away like they did. I haven’t accepted a date since. I want what they found, so if there’s not an instant connection I’m not going out with him. He'll show up eventually, right?
