The Final Frontier for Star Trek's EU

The beginning of a fitting end.

Star Trek: Coda is bringing to a close decades of storytelling that, like many other older franchises, were the continuing adventures of characters we had learn to love on screen, but found a deeper appreciation for in print. I haven’t read much of the Star Trek novels over the years. But I want to read this one because it’s giving the closure that Star Wars never did, acknowledging one timeline is coming to an end, to make room for another. It’s difficult, with the stories my generation grew up in getting rebooted, and subsequently the stories that sustained us overtime being washed away, to find a way to make the transition that respects both the old and new versions of the franchise. I feel like Coda is attempting to do that, and book one has done an excellent job.

Loved the tie-ins even though it seems all over the place. Knowing some of the back stories helps. Can’t wait to see what happens next in Coda Book

The reader was great, but the story was hard to follow at times but over all a good story...

i love st usually but t one thing from the show, i HATED wesley crusher! CA! at any rate, this book was so stremlined to the story it was just like watching the show tng but they also even made wesley a somewhat likable character.

Crisis on Infinite Star Treks

Wow. This was a great listen. Most of the time there's no real threat in a Star Trek book because you know that the main characters will live to fight another day (or be resurrected). Not this time. With the end of the expanded Star Trek book universe coming to a close, the stakes are the highest they've ever been. Even so, there are plenty of character moments that you'd expect in a Trek novel. I can't wait to read the next entries in this trilogy.

Making It So

Much like the reboot of Doctor Whk, this book is highly accessible. Those new to Star Trek literature are not obligated to have read 20 years of stories but if you have you are in for a treat. There is so much to say about this. In short, I didnt want to put this down. This is going to be the ST version of Infinity War/Endgame and I am here for it. I can't wait for the next story in this trilogy. Already planning a reread/register of this wonderful story.

Fun ride, excellent narration!

I have read very few Star Trek novels and had no idea where to start. I took a chance on this one because it had an intriguing premise and lots of crossovers from my favorite ships, characters, and concepts from Trek. Robert Petkoff does a phenomenal job narrating and truly captures the vocal cadence and personalities of our favorites. It was thrilling, interesting, and heartfelt from start to finish with plenty of “fill-in” bits to keep less well-versed readers in the loop and able to enjoy the ride. Definitely recommend!
