Wes explains the frequency spectrum with fantastic examples, and REAL music demonstrations. On top of that, there are bits of humor throughout & personal stories that keep things relatable & entertaining.

The book is an amazing resource too. It has QR codes to samples, & my favorite equalizer chart in the back. It shows you the perfect adjectives describing when you either have too much of any given frequency, or too little. Seriously. Check it out.

Game Changer

I really enjoyed this audiobook. Mix with Your Ears is super easy to follow and packed with helpful insights, especially if you’re trying to get better at mixing. Wes does a great job breaking things down in a way that actually makes sense—even if you’re not super technical.

One of the biggest takeaways for me was how much I learned about the frequency spectrum. It gave me a much better understanding of how to identify problem areas in a mix and make quicker, more confident EQ decisions. Since listening to it, I’ve definitely noticed myself EQing faster and more intuitively.

If you’re into music production or just want to get better at mixing, I’d definitely recommend giving this one a listen. It’s short, clear, and super practical.
