This book is about transitions. It is about my daughter Sarah, who is now my son Scott. But it is also a guide for transgender kids and their parents, or trans adults who just don't know where to begin. It is a handbook for the recently dysphoric.

I have provided answers to your questions, from "how do I get my name changed with Social Security?" to "what do I say to my transphobic Aunt Ruth?" The history of transgender experience is explored, along with the medical and physiological aspects of gender dysphoria. Trans experiences are shared in their own words.

My hope for this book is that you will find the information you need to make the right choices for you and your transition. I hope concerned parents have their minds set at ease. I hope embattled teens use this information to find help. And I hope Scott and I can show you a path through the maze of transitioning.
