Men get depressed too. It’s time to break the silence.

For generations, men have been taught to hide their struggles. They bury their emotions, wear masks of strength, and turn to destructive coping mechanisms—drinking, overworking, anger, or isolation. Society tells men to “man up,” but the cost of silence is devastating: broken relationships, burnout, and lives cut short.

Men Get Depressed Too: Breaking the Silence, Finding Strength is a straight-talking, practical guide for men who are tired of carrying the weight alone. Written with honesty and compassion, bestselling author Mark Anthony challenges the stigma around male depression and shows that real strength comes not from silence, but from courage, connection, and action.

Inside this book, you’ll discover:

  • Why men hide their pain—and how to break free from the silence
  • The coping mechanisms that backfire (and healthier alternatives that actually work)
  • Proven tools for resilience: therapy, exercise, journaling, connection, purpose
  • How to talk about depression without “losing face”
  • A new way to define success beyond money, status, and performance
  • A step-by-step 30-Day Action Plan to start building strength today

This is not another clinical textbook filled with jargon. It’s a practical, straight-to-the-point roadmap for men who want to reclaim their lives from depression—and for the loved ones who want to understand and support them.

If you’ve been struggling in silence, know this: you are not alone, and you are not weak. Hope is real. Recovery is possible. And it starts here.

As a man, it can be hard at times to realize when I’m depressed and when I’m just stressed by my environment. I think men often get pushed forward by society, and there’s an expectation that we shouldn’t complain. This audiobook helps reveal those hidden societal pressures and encourages us to start taking care of our mental health. I’m doing great with my psychologist, but I see nothing wrong with supporting myself with audiobooks like this one for faster progress.

The content is good and relaxing, touching on topics like taking a step back from the mask we create to face the truth, signs of depression, some of which I hadn’t admitted about myself but now I can watch for as warning signs, but the chapter I found most useful was the one about building a toolkit to be resilient against depression. I think this is critical for success because getting out of depression is just one part of the story; the other is maintaining mental health.

The narration is great and made me laugh because sometimes I felt like the narrator was Carl Johnson (CJ) from GTA San Andreas lol. That made it much easier and more fun to listen to!

Great for building a resilient depression toolkit
