The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books began in 1996 with a simple goal: to bring together the people who create books with the people who love to read them. The festival was an immediate success and has become the largest and most prestigious book festival in the country, attracting more than 130,000 book lovers each year.

Sara Davidson is the best-selling author of Loose Change, Cowboy, and most recently Leap! What Will We Do with the Rest of our Lives?. She's a contributing editor of O, The Oprah Magazine, and she's currently developing a drama series based on Leap! for ABC.

Mike Farrell is best known for his eight years on M*A*S*H and five seasons on Providence. He is also a writer, director, and human-rights activist. Farrell's autobiography is titled Just Call Me Mike. His most recent work is a memoir entitled Of Mule and Man.

Danny Goldberg, president of Gold Village Entertainment, is the former chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Records and Mercury Records. Bumping into Geniuses chronicles his years in the business working with the likes of Kurt Cobain, Stevie Nicks, and Bonnie Raitt.
