First-rate lectures on an important subject

When I bought this, it was titled "Media Psychology: Understanding the Media's Subconscious Influence." It has apparently now been given a new title and cover art that probably give a better idea of the subject matter, but that may give the mistaken idea that this is only for parents. I'd say that it's especially important for parents, but it's well worth a listen for anyone who has to live in our society.

Doug Gentile is a great speaker, both in terms of style and of substance. Every one of these talks is packed with interesting and important information and insights, about such topics as the effects of violence in video games and "the hidden psychology of advertising."

Outstanding, science-based with practical advice!

As a parent of three young kids, I have lots of questions about the appropriate amount of screen time, video games selection, internet usage, etc. Everyone seems to have an opinion. Dr. Gentile knows the data and has actually lead the research into these topics. He's also a parent who obviously cares. I found his lectures clear, information packed and very helpful. I also learned things I didn't expect, such has how the processes of learning change as my kids' brains develop. My wife and I believe we are able to make more intelligent media choices for our family as a result of these talks.
