Great Story

This turned out to be a great series, although difficult to follow initially. I had to listen to the first book twice and almost didn't proceed. I'm glad I did.

Seems like back fill for such a long book.

The ending really wss not thought out. no one asks were the laser comes from on the planet.

Man! Epic book 3.

I feel like this book could almost stand on its own. I really liked this story, quite a few things from the previous books get tied together. The aliens are even nastier if that's possible.

War has multiple sides

So far. This is the best of the Mech books. The personification of Imperium was carried out with precision. Looking forward to Mech 4!

Nice end to a good saga

Mech 3 is the end of this saga. It has some realy good parts to it. It also has a cool end!

Narration was distracting

The story was typical BV Larson and entertaining enough. However, the narration on this book (and the other two books in the series) has a multitude of mispronounced words throughout which I find very distracting. The first two books were not as bad as this one...but after finishing this book, I had to call out the distracting nature of the mispronunciations in this narration. Some examples include: "acuator" instead of "actuator"....."silver" instead of "sliver"...there were many more such mis-reads that changed the meaning of some of the sentences. He pronounced "cache" computer memory as "cash-ay". Computer cache memory is actually pronounced "cash". Other mispronunciations include "strenth" instead of "strength", "hants" instead of "hints", "chassises" (plural) instead of "chassis" (singular), "brazingly" instead of "brazenly", etc. There were many other examples throughout the book.

Also, compared to the narration of Mark Boyett (narrator of other BV Larson books), this recording is harder to understand and has a strange tone to it as if the narrator is talking to me through a long tube.

On a positive note, the narrator's performance of character voices was very well done. However, the mispronunciations and poor tone (EQ) of the recording only allow 2 stars for the narration performance.

love bv larson book so far.

Loved this book as i have the star force series. Great writer. hoping for more to come.

Great story...all three but, where's the 4th?

I hate to admit it but this series might actually be superior to his later ones. It was while waiting for the sequel to Dark World, another good series, that I discovered this one. Can you you believe my surprise that I found this one ever better. A more serous story, that is both complex and entertaining; imagine a cross between the Aliens franchise and Star Trek with a bit of civilization for good measure. The enemy is implacable, the characters well developed and the action tense. I think the only issue is the title. "MECH" was the error as mechs play more of a supporting role. The main character here are the aliens, Lucas Droid and parasitic Toulk. I hope he doesn't abandon the series but continues it.

Not as good as it could have been

The story line could have been alot better it got kind of boring and perdictable
