Interesting Life story.

This is a story of a boy who lived a chaotic and abusive life in that he was groomed, abused, and controlled throughout his life. It delivered to me, a mix of emotions that were hard to shake as he went along. Almost as if I could see what was happening in the telling, but he couldn't. I wanted to quit listening because the narrator sounded so utterly bored, and I got tired of the ridiculous sounding out of words in the early chapters. I was glad I stuck with it because the story got better although the lifeless reading did not, unless he was singing or relating a story of the mother. In any case, I'm glad I stuck with the story because I loved the growth the author experienced. That part was pretty amazing.
