As the skid approached the end of the long downward ramp, one of the two grunts stepped quickly ahead to open locked steel doors guarding the cocaine freebase lab at the bottom. The grunt inserted the key. But before the grunt could twist the key to engage the lock’s tumblers, the heavily loaded skid abruptly slammed into his back…to tightly squeeze his torso between the gravity trapped ton of dead weight and the unyielding steel doors…to compress his lungs to exhale all air, to snap his splintering ribs to knife their dagger sharp points into surrounding softer tissues, to force vital fluids to abruptly burst from crushed organs, to completely sever fragile nerve filled vertebrae. Behind the terminally trapped man and out of the sight of his blood filled eyes bulging violently from their sockets, his partner’s face was rapidly turning first red then blue then pale as he fought uselessly against a thin piano wire garrote strangling windpipe, carotids, jugulars. In but a few seconds the strong wire had finished its task as had the heavy skid. And Max Helden smiled. REPRISAL!
