Even on vacation, Mei can’t get away from murder.

Pregnant and exhausted, Mei travels to Kubako with her friends, Akiko and Kayo, for a relaxing three-day weekend full of festival food and fireworks. Kayo's family owns the local brewery, and they're excited to finally spend some time with Kayo's parents. But when a famous young actress is poisoned during the brewery’s open house, Kayo's father is the main suspect! Now, Mei, Akiko, and Kayo must put their meddling ways to the test. While dodging hotheaded detectives, they gather evidence with the help of Kayo's mother and some nosy locals.

Then, another woman is murdered at the festival. Is there a connection between the two victims? The actress had a tumultuous relationship with a local detective and an ex-boyfriend, and her own sister seemed to resent her. While Kayo is stuck dealing with the local police and trying to clear her family's name, Mei makes a shocking discovery at a local farm. Will this be enough to put the real killer behind bars?
