Resumen del Editor

This Charles Dickens classic is the powerful satiric novel of selfish hypocrisy and financial speculation as it bloomed in insular England and in the spacious but narrow minds of the US. It is a novel that has relevance to today’s frequent financial crises.

Beware this a heavily abridged version

This review is about this particular audible edition only. Not about the classic novel by the great Charles Dickens I bought this Audible Version, because it was read by David Case, but failed to notice that the play time was only a few hours. The advertisement did NOT state that this is an abridged version. The abridgment is horrible. It deserves minus 10 stars. Not only does it leave out the entire trip to America by young Martin, but also the entire story of Jonas, the worst villain of the story. The rest of the book is also heavily abridged. The pieces are blended so poorly, it becomes difficult to follow what little of the story remains. Even the narration of David Case was disappointing. I had just finished his reading of "Bleak House," which I enjoyed immensely. Why someone would want to leave out the most famous scenes in the book is beyond me.
Stay aware from this version like the plague.
