Resumen del Editor

Martial Law is a prophetic and prescient novel by best-selling author Bobby Akart (Cyber Warfare, Seeds of Liberty and Evil, Meet Opportunity), which includes a foreword from Steven Konkoly (best-selling author of The Perseid Collapse series and the Black Flagged series). The Boston Brahmin series continues as much of America is thrust into bedlam and upheaval following a vicious cyber-attack on the country's critical infrastructure.

A president, with an election looming as his second term nears an end, conspires with the wealthy and politically powerful Boston Brahmin to bring the country to its knees. While ordinary Americans struggle for survival, others demand answers. A centuries old cadre of Bostonians with roots dating back to the Founding Fathers, are forced to face the tough questions including:

Is this the result of a false flag, or is it for the greater good?

Political suspense collides with post-apocalyptic thriller fiction as Martial Law, book three in The Boston Brahmin series reveals that all empires collapse eventually and that there have been no exceptions.

The tiniest spark can light an inferno

Bobby Akart understands his demographic and boy did he ever write a book aimed right at them. I’ve been a fan of Bobby’s books for a while now, and this one was no different. Martial Law had a lot going on in it and was the first book in the series where things start to hit the fan.

Martial Law is the third book in the Boston Brahmin series, and as I mentioned above, is the first “apocalyptic” book. It’s still before and during an event (or events) and shows what the members of the elite Boston Brahmin are doing to prepare and stay safe.

You can tell that Bobby had a series-wide story arc in mind when writing this series — especially after you finish Martial Law. The first two books set this one up, and this one will definitely set up everything that is to come. The Boston Brahmin will fight on.

The actual attack (though there isn’t a ton of information around it) is incredibly realistic and well thought out. As were the interactions with the everyday “normal” neighbors. Every interaction and conversation felt like it could have been real and would have really happened in the situation.

There were some cheesy parts revolving around the fictional writer of “Choose Freedom” intermixed within (they were the only parts of the entire book that felt forced). But, I also understand why they were written the way they were (and why they were included). They allow the reader to understand that these people all follow the same thought processes and that they all agree with the author of that book.

Akart has a knack for writing books that feel like they are re-telling of real stories and Martial Law was no different. A great addition to the series. I cannot wait to figure out what happens in the upcoming books.

I received a free copy of this book. It has not affected my review of my opinion.

You purchase the whole seat, but you only need the edge!!!!

Best Series Ever!!! This is literary crack- once you start you cannot stop. The next 3-4 months are going to suck waiting for next book. So let's leaving Mr. Akart alone so he can finish his next book- which means ALL of you!

Really Makes You Think

In Martial Law, the third book in The Boston Brahmin series, we see the political and societal decline following the events of the previous books. It made me analyze our society and my personal preparations, as it's truly scary to think about what life would be like if events like these happened today. Between the masterful writing of Bobby Akart and the excellent narration of Joseph Morton, this is a book (and a series) everyone should listen to or read.

Fantastic shtf fiction crossed with todays events

If you could sum up Martial Law in three words, what would they be?

Gripping , Entertaining, Current

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Absolutely , it's not the usual shtf scenario and it seems that any character at anytime is expendable . Very gripping story.

Which character – as performed by Joseph Morton – was your favorite?

Steven and Sarge he does an excellent job on both characters as well as the rest of the cast.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Parts will make you laugh , the last time I cried was about 40 years ago lol.

Any additional comments?

Bobby Akart is fast becoming one of the premier authors in my opinion . His non-fiction and his fiction series are well worth the investment of time and money , very factual and extremely entertaining. I can only see him growing in his abillity as an author and now as along with some of my other favorite authors it's with great anticipation that I wait for his next release .

Must be nice to be rich.

If you could sum up Martial Law in three words, what would they be?

Rich people suck.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Martial Law?

When General Sears reads the Declaration of Martial Law. You knew it was coming.

Which character – as performed by Joseph Morton – was your favorite?

I think he does one of the best jobs trying to give all of the characters their own voice.

If you could rename Martial Law, what would you call it?

Don't think I would change it the title sums it up, you're just waiting for it to happen.

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed the whole series so far. It is scary to think that it is possible for one of 1% of the 1% could just decide to bring the way we live crumbling down because he thinks we need a "reboot". It just makes me sick to think the super rich can set themselves up and turn their noses up at the rest of the 99% of us. I am not saying people shouldn't be prepared and not expect the government or someone else to take care of them but it must be nice to have deep pockets to buy all the cool toys and have US Marines to act as security. I am looking forward to see how Mr. Akart will have our weapons taken away. I am a police officer and know some people will give you their guns one bullet at a time and I don't plan on being on the receiving end of that because that is how I would do it. Well this is a great series and Mr. Morton keeps you engaged in the story. Looking forward to the next book.

AWESOME!! Scary & possible...

Very well written story & believable characters. It's easy to see how this story could be no so far fetched if you even remotely keep up with the "news." Can't wait for book four.

Love this series so far

I read a lot of series in this genre & so far this series is developing into one of, if not the best I've read.

The character development is a nice blend of backstory & history, along with the current circumstances, & it's done in such a way as to not bog down the flow of the developing story.

I look forward to continuing my journey with the Brahmin & their adventure.
