Resumen del Editor

Ever since an attempt on his life marooned him with his bodyguards on the hostile planet Marduk, with its unending series of threats, obstacles, and adventures, Prince Roger McClintock has evolved from a spoiled, petulant heir into a true leader of humans and aliens alike.

This third edition to the Prince Roger Series takes the Bronze Barbarians across the Eastern Ocean of Marduk, facing giant sea monsters, pirates, and the barbarian nations that dwell on the other side. Their destination is a spaceport held by humans of questionable loyalties. As Roger comes nearer to making his way home, he learns that his attempted assassination was part of a larger plot. Not all is as it seems on Earth or on Marduk. Fortunately, he's got the Bronze Barbarians and the Basik's Own at his back.

Planet of the scrapes: don't miss the rest of the action in the Prince Roger Series.

Reseñas de la Crítica

"The dynamic duo of Weber and Ringo continue Prince Roger McClintock's adventures, which are coming to constitute a military SF classic." (Booklist)
"Parallels with Prince Hal in Henry IV are probably intentional, adding a certain gravitas to the many exceptionally well-done battle scenes....readers can look forward to seeing how the authors will retell Henry V. It should be one hell of a St. Crispin's Day." (Publishers Weekly)

SUPERB! LOVE IT.

David Weber and John Ringo are both marvellous writers. The story plot gets better and better. Stefan Rudnicki performed all characters so well. His performance of Prince Roger and Captain Palmer are so... Good. I am starting on Bk 4. It was a pity that so many of died. They were all heroes in my book. Prince Roger will make a great leader! I hope he will get his love in the end. I also hope that there will be more books on Prince Roger. Thank you Audible for this wonderful series.

Keeps getting better!

It keeps getting better. As with all the series I listen to what keeps me coming back is not just the story line, it’s the interaction between characters as they develop. The author and narrator have done a great job of developing the relationships between the characters. The author for the writing of course and for the narrator for brining it to life and giving it the “feel”. Can’t wait to download the next book.

hooked

The journey continues for Prince Roger and his marines. There are more grander and better battles to come in this book and continues to follow the same formula which has kept me glued throughout the other books. It is a little sad to see the number of members of Prince Rogers group dwindle and we do lose some good characters. However, overall this series just keeps getting better as it goes on.

Good Ole Sci Fi

OK, so David Weber and John Ringo aren’t going to win any Pulitzer Prizes for this story and so maybe the characters were predictable and so was the story line. So who cares! This was a fun story to listen to. The story kept up a fast pace throughout the whole book. Actually through out all 3 of the books that I heard. This is truly one continuos story line from "March Up Country", "March to The Sea" right through "March to The Stars" and I feel safe to say will carry on into "We Few" (which I will be reading very soon). These books just made me want to keep going through this adventure to see what would happen next. It was basic good vs bad (not evil). Many of the ideas and scenarios developed through out the books were quite clever and unique and the integration of high tech vs pre industrialized Earth society (Though not on Earth) was well done. Though why the bow and arrow never came up is a bit puzzling. I wanted to give these books a 3 star rating but just couldn't because they were so much fun. This was just a good all around listen.

Okay book three is good but to much the same

If you like me you listen to the whole series in order. so this book is a must there is a few real plot details that will ruin book four for you. there are only some of the same old battles you want to listen to. that my only complaint to this book. worth the listen its importiant to the series. definatly good. but get ready to hear a bit of the same.

Super depressing book

Be warned …. If you, like me, get engaged in the characters (not just the super hero) then this book might not be for you. This book takes the saying: “life is tough and then you die” to a whole new level. The story is over and almost everyone is dead. Now I’m just depressed. So if you’re masochistic then go ahead and start. Or just don’t like or identify with any character.
Oh, also … Roger becomes a little girl begging for his GF not to leave him. So there’s that too

Good book, superb reader

Any additional comments?

Stefan Rudnicki is one of my favorite readers for military fiction. His voice is calm and relentless (appropriate for military), showing little emotion and yet somehow conveying the character's emotions and intentions. He is very good at distinguishing the different characters.

Each of the species on Marduk has its own way of speaking. In addition, each character has his own way of speaking within that dialect. Truly amazing!

In the final book of the trilogy, there are three Terran military personnel. I can tell instantly which one is speaking. Some readers do this by having one lisp, or have a hoarse voice - Mr. Rucnicki doesn't have to resort to such cheap tricks. Highly recommended!

Nice conclusion to Prince Roger's journey

3rd in the series, this is a fun book with plenty of action. a mix of coming of age, barbarian hordes, and high tech scifi. Not a heavy read, this book is a great for a casual romp through an adolescent fantasy.
