Almost perfect.

A fabulous end to yet another beyond amusing series by Gail Carrigar. The almost comes from Moira's depiction of Lord Akeldama. I really wish she'd listened to how his voice was done in the parasol protectorate series (which was awesome) and mimicked that (which I feel was spot on). Moira's depiction of one of the best characters made me cringe every time he spoke. I never got used to it and it really detracted from the series. Otherwise a great book I'd recommend to anyone who likes to laugh and enjoys a rollicking good adventure.

Such a fun series!

This whole series has been such a joy to listen too! I thoroughly enjoyed these whimsical, exciting, and fashionable stories :) I also loved how the author and the audio narrator brought the characters to life. If you are looking for a unique and entertaining story, I would highly recommend this one.

Best of the series

Carriger did a fantastic job on this installment. While the ending left a few little holes, nothing major. Overall it was so fantastically written and I personally loved it the most of all the others in the Finishing School Series

Moira Quirk is a Goddess!

The series is a fun romp only made better by Ms Quirk's animated and versatile voice talent.

Great ending to the story

I really loved this series, and am looking forward to more of Carriger's stuff. This had the same flavor as the last 3 books, but never seemed boring or out of ideas. You finally get to see Sefronia cut loose against the bad guys at the end, in her own special way. Awesome!

ANGELIQUE CAMEO

i love this book and this series so much, but i was listening to it and caught what i think was the first cannonical angelique appearance? bonde with violet eyes, intelligencer, dances with vieve im not sure if its a coincidence or a fun addition but it's there!

steampunk love

I love steampunk books and loves this one to the very end. lady spies, secret societies, evil genius boy's school. it doesn't get much better.

Wow, what a series!

I know this series is supposed to be for YA, but I enjoyed these books completely--and I'm a grandma. They are funny, fresh, and intelligently written. Gail Carriger took subject matter that's been written about over and over and over and somehow made it new. This is the end of the series, but I wish it was going to continue. Well, I guess I will just have to listen to all the books over again.

Listening to Steampunk at my age!

I've listened to and enjoyed this series of 4 books. It wasn't until a librarian friend of mine mentioned that these were Steampunk fiction meant for young adults that I was surprised, but that also explains the cover illustrations. The school that this young lady is sent to consists of two dirigibles where the students and faculty live and learn in the sky, practically invisible to those on earth. What I really enjoyed was the play on words. For example, highwaymen from English countrysides become flywaymen. The plots are wonderful and the heroine is, of course, resourceful. The narrator does an excellent job on the variety of voices and characters.

Something for everyone.

With charming wit and delightful storylines, this series has held my attention from start to 'finish'. Miss Quirk does a lovely job narrating. The world Gail has provided for us is truely wonderful. Thank you for helping me get through my day!
