An inventor goes public and says, "I have created a magnetic sound vibration anti-gravity spaceship." The military hears this and replies, "It's ours now. Also, it does not exist," and sends the inventor to prison for reasons of national security, and the inventor is never heard from again. The news reports it as a standard weather balloon. All notes, documents, and prototypes vanish. And we, the public, are back to paying outrageous high airport travel fees.
Anti-gravity is one of those controversial subjects that some say is more in the realm of science fiction than science fact, with many physicists saying it's just not theoretically possible. In contrast, others are busy trying to find theories that would allow it to be possible. But the problem with that is this: A theory is meaningless without action - for example, a prototype to back it up.
