Reseñas editoriales

Younger listeners may not realize that the big, handsome mogul whose businesses include movie theatres, gyms, and professional sports teams was once something of an athlete himself. Actually, that’s not true: Earvin "Magic" Johnson is one of the most legendary athletes of all time. But this audiobook conversation between Magic and interviewer Stephen J. Adler, recorded at the 92nd Street Y, in 2008, focuses on Magic’s post-basketball endeavors: his entrepreneurship, his philanthropy, and his philosophy of business as a way to serve communities in need. Magic’s charm and wit are present, of course, and Adler gets a nice assist.

Resumen del Editor

As a young man, Earvin "Magic" Johnson admired his father and other small-town entrepreneurs who created jobs and served as leaders in his Midwestern community. He worked for them, watched them, and his interest in building communities through economic development grew even while his basketball career flourished. His fame as an NBA star gave him access to some of the most successful business leaders in the country. It was Earvin's own entrepreneurial spirit that inspired them to serve as his mentors.

A Short Interview On His Business Dealings

It really wasn't clear to me what this even was, but what it is, is a short interview with Magic about business. He talks about his businesses, which target inner city communities. As such it's not terrible, but gosh, I'd have much rather heard magic talk about basketball.

Inspiring

Magic shows the greatness both on and off the court, taking it up a notch in his life after basketball. Great inspiring thoughts and advice.
