Acerca de esta escucha
As Darkmind threatens to take over Vaya Sage’s consciousness, the assassin considers suicide to rid the world of this threatening evil—all while engaging in a lethal shootout with the Dark Uzzit.
When the dust settles, Vaya Sage discovers that Darkmind has been driving his decisions ever since the Treiliki hit. Had he been nothing more than an elaborate puppet in Darkmind’s macabre theater?
Even his desire to retire as an assassin proves to be part of Darkmind’s plan. Vaya Sage would do it anyway—just to forget what he’d done to Midi Ella and other innocents but it turns out his role involves far more than curbing the pace of human trafficking. The stakes are much higher than he’d ever imagined and a bizarre development may actually give him the upper hand for a change.
Once again, reality is far less believable than memory implants ever hoped to be.

Great audiobook (or book) - get it now (but listen to or read the first two audiobooks/books in the series first)!
“Mage Hunter” by Drew Briney
Mage Hunter, like the two previous audiobooks in the series (Assassin Hunter and Soul Hunter), is fantastic. I loved listening to it from start to finish.
This audiobook is written from the point of view of Vaya Sage, the protagonist of Assassin Hunter. Through listening to his thoughts and reflections and perspectives on his experiences I came to understand and empathize with his tormented feelings about his past actions and their unfortunate consequences. While suffering through his tortured recollections, he must also be wary of possible attempts by Darkmind to overwrite his thoughts and memories, and avoid the efforts of another dangerous assassin who aims to kill him. All throughout, Vaya Sage aspires to be a good, or at least better, man.
I won’t spoil the surprise of the evolution of the storyline and the protagonist’s character but I was engaged and intrigued throughout the entire audiobook. Vaya Sage is relatable and engenders empathy and I awaited each twist and turn in the action eagerly.
I can’t recommend this audiobook enough - I also appreciated the narrator who did an excellent job. (If audiobooks are not your thing, then get the ebook or book - you won’t regret it)! I look forward to Mr. Briney’s next series or standalone novel with anticipation!

Engaging
I quite enjoyed this. There were a few minor things which were confusing, but it is quite the unpredictable adventure. Generally, if I went back and reread carefully, it cleared up. There are certainly bread crumbs leading to the next book! And a great ending which leaves one eagerly anticipating the next novel. There’s magic, technology, multi-dimensional travel ... The narration was well-done. I received a free copy of this book, with no obligation.
