MacGyver is back and will need all his skills to survive....

When a top US nuclear physicist impossibly vanishes off a transatlantic plane in the middle of the flight, the US government calls in its top agent who specializes in the impossible, MacGyver.

In order to solve the mystery and recover the scientist and intel that could lead to escalating conflicts across the globe, Mac will find himself drawn into a high-stakes game of cat and mouse against a billionaire thief with resources and ingenuity that match MacGyver's own.

So to bring his adversary to justice, Mac must navigate between an old flame from Interpol and a beautiful but deadly young woman with some shocking revelations for him. When his quarry’s endgame begins, MacGyver will be forced to confront his identity, career, and purpose as the international situation careens toward critical mass.

it was great to hear. if not, see MacGyver again The only way the book could have been better is if they had hired. Richard Dean Anderson to narrate the MacGyver bits. but what do I know? I humbly recommend that you listen for yourselves.

not narrated by Richard Dean Anderson but then again you can't have everything.

Really enjoyed bringing classic Mac to the modern age. Hope there will be more of these. John Pirhalla was the next best thing to having Richard Dean Anderson narrate. Did an excellent job capturing MacGyver’s voice and mannerisms.

Sounded like RDA MacGyver eh!

Loved the characters, the story and the quick-witted dialogue. The audiobook performance was the icing on the cake.

A fun story that was timely and topical as much as it was nostalgic.

This could easily be a film for the tv series! Loved it! Hope we get more books soon.

A thrilling addition to the series

Like the title says, it feels like 80’s MacGuyver. Both the good and the bad. The story is a mishmash of outlandish and pulpy plotlines, which is charming if you want an extended 80’s MacGyver episode. It’s missing the monologues and more sciencey explanations that stood out in the original show too. Mac is true to his roots though and feels like the same character as played by RDA, but, due to the fact that the series creator only owns the rights to MacGyver, there are no other recurring characters, no Phoenix Foundation, Jack Dalton, Penny, etc.

I would have appreciated a little more world building and character development to help this feel less like a one-off and more like a foundation for a longer series, but I did honestly enjoy the story all the same.

Fans of the 80’s series ought to enjoy it! It’s worth giving it a try.

Feels a lot like 80’s MacGuyver
