Finally, the search is over. A planet near the star Merak has been discovered! It is the Eden that was only imagined in the dreams of the scientists and explorers that had left planet Earth in search of a new home.
Prehistoric by Earth standards; uninhabited with lush rain forests, viridescent grasslands and beautiful oceans, it was perfect!
It was ours to colonize!
There was just one small problem. There were others in our universe with the same intentions!
A race to claim this planet could lead to a war of galactic proportions!
Can Asil and his crew prevent a war with a species determined to claim this planet for their own and destroy the Earth in retaliation?

...The EIS Alpha II was saddled alongside the dreadnaught Winnipeg. Large, Clearsteel umbilicals ran from one ship to the other as the two ships danced in a unified orbit around the ice-covered planet that orbited the star Altair. The Alpha and its crew were about to attempt another first in the history of humankind. This would be the first jump into hyperspace without the Sun as reference point alpha.

..."Commander, you have got to see this!"
"What is it?"
"Not sure, ma'am. It just popped onto our long-range radar just outside of Altair V."
"Do you think it's the Muckers? Do you think they finally found us?"
"Too soon to tell."
"Well, if it is, we'll give them a thorough welcoming."
"Yes, ma'am, but..."
"But what corporal?"
"This thing is big! Really big!"

..."All intelligence tells us there is a hostile alien presence that is closing in on the Solar System as we speak. The aliens will be arriving from three different sources. One force will arrive from the Merak System, another from the Sirius System, and a third, much larger force, from the Altair System."

"We need to get around the Earth to that line!" I exclaimed.
"Why?" asked Hailey."I have hatched a plan! Get me the chairperson of the World Council on the line! I need to speak to her immediately!"
