If all authors were this talented…

If all authors were this good at narrating, I’d demand they all read their own books. I read this as an ebook and desperately wished for the audio. Worth the wait!!

Surprising performance

The audio recording really sold this story to me, to the point I forgot it was single person narration by the author.

The story itself, I expected to be a throwaway kind of smutty book despite the setting of zombie apocalypse. And it was to some extent. Very HOT, especially if you are into dom-sub dynamics. However, I might not have been able to be convinced of this relationship if not for the breathy infatuation of the FMC and the commanding presence of the MMC. Also the book was not as throwaway fluff as I expected, attempting to make some statements about society and promising more to come in future books. However, if this book was meant to have some substance, I really would have expected more of it; it really just showed up at the end.

I would say this book is more romance than dystopian, even though dystopian does come into play. The author's observations on the uselessness and usefulness of different skills contrasting modern world and post-apocalyptic world were relevant but in passing. I'm wondering if she's going to try to make more of a statement in her future books? Bottom line, though, I would listen to this book for the hot sexy romance.
