Okay, so August Churchill has a few problems. Sure, his life is turning itself upside down. Yes, his best friend is sticking her nose into his business. Roxanne Matherson means wells, but she is no longer his partner, retiring from the police force, and she can't change what happened, anymore than the next person can. She can, however, send him off to a spiritual healing retreat in Montana, forcing him to face the reality of his loss. He wants to hide from the loss, not face it.
