Sweet short love story you can't put down

I enjoyed this short love story. Basically 2 little sisters devise a plan to get their older siblings, Gabe and Meredith, to fall in love with each other. The scheme revolved around secret admirer letters.Throughout their scheming I would think to myself, " but what about this...." or "how will ...work",, each time the author would answer. It is that little bit of building of suspense that turned this into a book I couldn't "put down" until I was done listening to it.
Gabe is very shy, which plays well into keeping Meredith from suspecting him as the author of the letters. Also Meredith notices Gabe for the first time and many furtive glances are made which Gabe interprets as lack of interest in him. The plot has several little twists that bring together a happy ending.
The narrator did a good job presenting the personalities of the adults but sometimes, I thought, fell short on the more juvenile personalities to match the 2 little sisters. Mostly noted when they were in scheming mode, or tittering as they watched things unfold from afar. This did not detract from the story or the joy in hearing this story.

Fabulous listen!

Sweet and funny, Penny Zeller pens a fabulous novella about Meredith and Gabe. Little did they know the shenanigans behind the scenes that would lead to their happily ever after. These two grew up together, but Meredith had not scene Gabe for several years. Now he is back and much different than he was in school. Strong, good looking and a man of faith, she watches him from afar. Gabe too is watching Meredith, but his shy nature has his tongue tied every time he tries to talk to her. Now the barn dance is upon them and their life is about to change! Who thought the results of a couple of kids could land a couple with the love of their life? I loved this, from the sisters to the massive amounts of jawbreakers. It's sweet, full of fun and love.

Kacy Combest is the story teller using the best voices for all the characters. From kids to adults, old to young, she grabs just the right amount of emotion to create the ambiance and keep it fresh and fun to listen to. I enjoyed her performance.

Delightful, engaging story!

I listened to this story on Audible and it was an absolute delight! The narration was great, easy to follow, and the range of voices was excellent. The story itself was so fun, full of laughs, romance, and heartwarming moments that left me wanting it to just keep going and never end! There is a strong faith thread through the story as well. Wonderful escape for a little while that will put a smile on your face and a desire to go back in time. I highly enjoyed this story and I believe you will too!

Sweet Novella

This was a wonderful novella! I listened to the audiobook and I really enjoyed the story. I loved the two young sisters getting involved in their older siblings love life. The way they worked it out was fun. Gabe and Meredith just wasn’t fast enough for them. I can sorta understand because when I was dating I had a 14 year old brother and he spied on me and my boyfriend/later he was my husband. He was an aggravating little brother at that time. Lol! He’s one of my best friends now.
Gabe was so shy and Meredith was fairly shy. I loved their story though. One little shy glance led to a few little words here and there they finally got the job done. Such a sweet Historical Romance.
I received the audiobook from the author but was not required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.
