Genuinely wanting to serve and care for others is why most folks get into ministry leader-ship. Sharing the Gospel, meeting practical needs, spending time listening and bearing the burdens of others all bring meaning in a difficult world. Yet there’s also so much guilt and angst surrounding whether we’re doing enough or doing it “right.” It is essential for leaders to critique the standard they use in evaluating their ability to love others well. Most of us base our evaluation on feelings or an inaccurate application of biblical commands. My goal in writing this book is to uncover the principles Jesus modeled so we all utilize the same standard. I will share observations of ways Jesus modeled loving God. Reflection questions give you an opportunity to uncover your beliefs and feelings about each observation. The challenge assignment leads you through the process of critiquing your style in comparison with Jesus’ model.
