That is, until the day I meet a fairy wearing denim shorts and work boots, wielding a fire axe and digging a fire line around my place. I’m completely captivated, especially when she flits in and out of my bed and puts out my late-night fires.
She won’t tell me a thing about her, not even her name, but she promises to stay around, and that’s good enough for me.
Until she’s gone, leaving nothing but a bloody dress and a black book of people, places, and prices.
