One of BC’s Best

This is one of the better Barbara Cartland romances. The characters are very interesting and the plot has many twists and turns.

My first Barbara Cartland

I’ve long run out of well-written and original HRs. The ones left, or that are being pumped out now, all sound alike, have very basic and linear writing, and have modern phrasing. Nothing original. Same plots over and over. So when I saw this Barbara Cartland in a sale, I thought, “why the heck not. It can’t be any worse than what’s out there now.” But I was wrong. It sounded like all the others. Same old tropes. Same types of characters. It was okay enough to finish with some fast forwarding and a faster listening speed, but it wasn’t special, and it had too many internal thoughts for my taste.
