I was a desperate love addict searching for love in all the wrong places. I was only attracted to unavailable men. I was miserable and switching from one addiction to the next.
It finally came to a head when, as a marriage and family therapist trainee, I became romantically involved with a client. He told on me, and as a result, I was expelled from my master’s program. I hit rock bottom. I turned to God and worked the 12 steps of recovery. I went from having severe anxiety and depression to having abundant peace and joy. God also delivered me from anorexia, body image issues, codependency, bipolar, and drug/alcohol addiction!

This is an honest and raw story of deep challenges and radical healing. It may seem familiar to GenXers who grew up with neglect and a hole in their heart.

Thanks for sharing!
I really appreciate the author sharing about her past. There are experiences that we share and so it’s helpful for me to see you don’t unnecessarily carry shame with you and how, by the grace of Christ, you walked out your healing. Glory to God!
