Acerca de esta escucha
Having located Luther but failed to convince him to return, Mack comes back to another mystery: why did a bus driver intentionally go over a bridge, killing himself and his passengers? He also does battle with Oklahoma governor Buffalo Joe Hayman, who wants to build two two-lane turnpikes.
Peopled with evocative characters, this original novel is filled with yarns about country music, joggers, funerals, venereal disease, lawyers, and much more.

Journalist Jim Lehrer brings his folksy baritone and intimate knowledge of local politics to this installment of the engrossing series about Oklahoma's lieutenant-governor, One-Eyed Mack. In this tale, Oklahoma House of Representatives speaker Luther Wallace has disappeared without a trace, until a gas station attendant delivers a note saying he won't come back until he's good and ready. Mack flies to France to chase down his old friend, but ends up investigating a series of others mysteries instead, all while battling Oklahoma governor Buffalo Joe's harebrained ideas. Listeners who love an engrossing mystery with down-home, masculine charm will appreciate this one.

Just a joy!!
Would you consider the audio edition of Lost and Found to be better than the print version?
You Bet!! Jim Lehrer is the best reader of his One-Eyed Mack books!! His Oklahoma twang coupled with the careful accuracy of his reading somehow convey the southwestern roots and the boy-scout innocence of Mack perfectly. But don't be fooled - Mack is as sharp as they come! His picture of his middle-aged Marine cronies reliving their imaginary war exploits is dead-on! I loved these books in print but is audio they are just delightful!
What other book might you compare Lost and Found to and why?
Short List is another joy! Lehrer's engagingly irritating politicos get entangled with the possibility that the One-Eyed Mack may be nominated for Vice-President! Dry wit and bus sex - what a combination!
Any additional comments?
I hate politics, and never read books by famous people or books about war experiences. But I love to laugh, and I love a good read - so I love the One-Eyed Mack books!
