Resumen del Editor

Years before the public knew about bin Laden, Bill Clinton did. Bin Laden first attacked Americans during Clinton's presidential transition in December 1992. He struck again at the World Trade Center in February 1993. Over the next eight years the archterrorist's attacks would escalate killing hundreds and wounding thousands, while Clinton did his best to stymie the FBI and CIA and refused to wage a real war on terror. Why?

The answer is here in investigative reporter Richard Miniter's stunning expose that includes exclusive interviews with both of Clinton's National Security Advisors, Clinton's counter-terrorism czar, his first CIA director, his Secretary of State, his Secretary of Defense, top CIA and FBI agents, lawmakers from both parties and foreign intelligence officials from France, Sudan, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates, as well as on the scene coverage from Sudan, Egypt, and elsewhere.

Losing bin Laden is a dramatic, page-turning read, a riveting account of a terror war that bin Laden openly declared, but that Clinton left largely unfought. With a pounding narrative, up-close characters and detailed scenes, it takes you inside the Oval Office, the White House Situation Room, and within some of the deadliest terrorist cells that America has ever faced. If Clinton had fought back, the attacks on September 11, 2001 might never have happened.

Going against the grain

In this era of "cookie-cutter protest", it is refreshing to find some actual evidence to support a theorem as opposed to the emotional, baseless attacks that I read daily in the news. While it may be appealing to pin 9/11 on a single administration, I believe the most relevant quote is the one I heard long ago in an effort to detract from President Reagan's victory over Communism, (I paraphrase) "Crediting President Reagan with the fall of Communism is like crediting a man for the sunset because if happened while he was around". The point is, the makings of 9/11 were in the works long before the 7 months President Bush was in office. Let's use some objectivity here. I believe in truth, not "partisian"(sic)ship. Please exercise some independent thought and weigh the evidence here.

Put politics aside, this is an interesting book

It does not take too much of a stretch of an imagination to think that a president would be consumed with his own scandals to avoid confronting a brewing problem elsewhere. I am a political junkie and have a good feel for politcal pragmatism. This account is very reasonable considering Clinton's track record. No person could objectively give this book a 1 star. Buy the book and get ready to get pissed off at your government.

FALSE INFORMATION

This book is full of dis-information and wishful thinking. It is a very irresponsable book....To bad it might be a great fiction book but it was not truthful It belongs in fiction...The facts and reporting are fiction... It is a waste of time....These charges have been disproved....total waste of time unless you are not interested in the truth....

Riddled with Incomplete and Incorrect Information

It is unfortunate that an "investigative journalist" would fail to do any actual investigation into the facts. The author cites claims (later acknowledged as false even by the current Bush Administration) from a businessman, who gave the Clinton Administration false information in an effort to further his international business with the Sudan. He also ignores various attempts on the part of the Clinton Administration to capture of kill Osama bin Laden. I would recommend passing up this book in favor of a less error-prone and partisian book.

Pulp Fiction

I was disappointed the writer couldn't make a more coherent case about the misadventures of Bill Clinton. Routinely, we are given far better accounts of Bill Clinton's dasterdly deeds, by high roaders at Fox news. I was really disapponting this book was little more than a rehash of the daily rantings of historical luminaries. i.e. Mesrs. Hannity, O'Riley and other pulpfiction bananarepublicans. On the entertaining side, the book is refreshingly funny, to see how flailingly desparate the writer does try to deflect us from the cronyism, and self-interested missmanagement of the current 3rd stringers, Save your book credit!

Obviously a Fox News recommended book

Never let facts get in the way of a good story. This book is full of things you would expect to hear on Shawn Hannity and Rush Limbaugh. It's pure right-wing trash.

Investigative reporter for who?

Nowhere in the blurb for this book is the author identified as an investigative reporter for a publication of note. But the reviews are instructive, since they come from Forbes and the Washington Times, two of the prime outlets for neocon propaganda. Skip it.

Oh Dear

You have to be joking. Sources have not been tested, allegations are not substantiated. History is being bent here. Compare this with Clarke's book. Republican funded trash!!!!!
