If you Love Romeo and Juliet Stories...
First, let me state that I'm not a huge fan of the love-at-first-sight stories or the fall in love the first day they meet stories. I like the slowly developing relationships better. This is a bit of a spoiler, but they kiss the first day they meet. I really wanted them to slowly develop their relationship rather than rushing right in.
This is the first book I've read in the series. Lord Atten is my favorite character. He's a little sarcastic and cheeky. As a book character, I really like him. If I were to meet him in real life, he's the sort of guy who I'd either really grow to love and enjoy being around or the sort who would irritate me to no end. I'm not really sure which category he'd fall into.
As I was reading this, I couldn't help thinking that everyone should just let the feud go. The more I read about it, the more I wondered why the families had even bothered to continue to hold a grudge. Our two main characters seem to be about the only people who don't know the cause of the feud. I feel like that information would have come out sooner or at least that they would have had an idea of what caused the feud.
Ultimately, this is a really cheesy Regency romance. If that's the sort of book you're looking for, you'll likely enjoy this book. Honestly, based on the whole Romeo and Juliet set-up from the book's description, I probably wouldn't have picked this book on my own. Someone in my book club picked it. It was a good book. I listed to the audiobook, and it was about four hours. It was worth the four hours it took to listen to the audiobook.
