Resumen del Editor

Three runaway teenagers meet up on the road.

Fifteen-year-old Ramie Redfeather leaves Cheyenne with music in his pocket and his thumb in the air. He's looking to find his father, a man he's never met. Ramie gets a ride with Chas Sweeney, a 17-year-old driving a "borrowed" Cadillac Eldorado with Maryland tags, who just happens to be passing through Cheyenne. Chas is running away from the wreckage that is his world, 1,600 miles away. In Denver Ramie and Chas meet Mae B. LaRoux, an enchanting young singer from Baton Rouge. LaRoux, who struggles with a learning disability, is on a mission to become a professional musician. The three runaways band together and set out on a fast-paced road trip to get to the Austin Music Festival, looking for Redfeather on the way. They're on the road - but it ain't Jack Kerouac's road trip!

A 21st century coming of age on the road. Although about teenagers, the story should also appeal to older adults who harbor a rebellious teen within.

A Wonderful Story about Personal Growth!

This was a very enjoyable listen. The Charcter's growth throughout the story is great. The realizations that what We think We want, know and achieve are ever changing. The facts we assume are important or necessary... are not always real... The Narrator did a wonderful job.. I can't wait for more works by both Author and Narrator! This book was provided free of charge in exchange for a fair review... Thank You!

Three journeys become one!

It’s amazing how Linda Collison writes the viewpoints of teenagers! I had forgotten about my own teenage past, but this story brought it all back. And Aaron Landon was great at portraying all of people involved.
I couldn’t stop listening and wondering how this would turn out! Thank you!

Lovely coming of age story

This is a great coming of age story full of adventure, humor and endearing characters. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The narration is very well done, too. I received a review copy at my request and voluntarily reviewed.

Wonderful coming of age/road trip story. I loved i

This book is fantastic! One of the best books I've read this year. The coming of age/road trip story features three truly memorable characters, Ramie Redfeather, Chas Sweeney, and Mae B. Laroux, as they meet up with one another on the road and travel together in search of the mystical musician (and possibly Ramie's father) Redfeather.

I laughed out loud at some of the antics and conversations between these three characters. The way the author gets inside the mind of teenage boys, I was surprised to realize it is a female author. Her perception and spot on teen male attitude is reminiscent of S.E. Hinton's The Outsiders. Very well done. I love Ramie's laid back, serious attitude, and the always entertaining, often irritating Chas is just as endearing.

The word usage and bits of knowledge spouted by all three characters is amazing. It really held me captive. At one point, Chas is described as having "a word arsenal and he's not afraid to use it." This, to me, describes this fantastic author. I can't wait to read more of her stories.

I listened to the audio version of this book and narrator, Aaron Landon, did a wonderful job. I felt like I was there, riding in the car with these characters.

Three Strong Characters

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

I was very taken by this story that follows three teenagers in search of what is missing in their lives. It is a touching tale of friendship born out of desperation and need of companionship, given without questions or judgement. Three lives so different and yet so similar in their quests for happiness or what they perceive as happiness, brings us on a joy ride through a Western landscape where even Indians and cow boys find their way into the hearts of these new friends.
The writing is very easy to follow and clean and the narration adds to the experience. An enjoyable book to read and understand what hides behind some teenagers' façade.

3 teens, 1 epic road trip

I recently listened to Linda Collison's novel Water Ghosts and instantly fell in love with the author's writing style. I was not disappointed to then hear another of her novels, Looking for Redfeather. This is a wonderful coming-of-age tale, sure to capture your heart. When 3 rag-tag teens meet by chance and set out on the open road in a 1960 Cadillac, unexpected things happen. They each have a mission... one wants to follow her dream of making music, one wants to find his long lost father, and one wants desperately to escape what's happening to his mother back home. Wonderful story and a great narrator.
