The nuclear winter has ended. Survivors cautiously begin to peek out of their underground shelters, each having endured their separate trials. They emerge into a foreign land wiped bare from the ferocious storms and glaciers. The landscape is barren with barely any sign of life. How will they fare in the new land with supplies running low?

Many find signs directing them to a land prepared, but the journey over inhospitable terrain is daunting. Most of the survivors, in groups great and small, find themselves pulled either to the west or to the northwest. Searching for supplies, Frank and Marie encounter something dark, eventually meeting up with a mysterious stranger.

In the protected valley, life begins anew. Two groups have fragmented the peaceful valley, each certain they are right in their beliefs. The barrier still stands, holding off the harsh weather, but for how long?

Keegan, believing himself the new messiah, gathers his people to him and begins his march to the east. Unknown to any of the forming groups, something dark has begun gathering at the gates, thundering forth into an unprepared land.

I did struggle to around the though, like I couldn't wait to be done so I could start something else. I'm sure I'll finish the series but for now I need something different.

A new level of terror

The.firces of good and evil are now concentrating on their respective goal as sides are taken . unfortunately too many are lost to the Riders, whether they are good or bad, becoming fodder for Lucifer's final goal; the destruction of Heaven and all humanity.
I have read it but listening brings the story to a whole new level terror. and as usual Mark Gaglliardi does a fantastic job.

This series is captivating, once you start, you just can’t stop. The storyline =WOW!!!
The characters = WOW!!!
John is definitely picky about his narration, Mark is definitely a great choice.

Every time the word “host” is uttered, take a shot. You’ll be blitzed in no time. :-)

Overall an interesting story and good plot, but unless you’re a Christian you’ll be doing some serious eye rolling.

Events finally pick up!

The first to books were mostly a seemingly endless preamble especially compared to this one.

John O'Brien does it again! the continuation of the Lifting the veil series is a roller coaster ride between good and evil in a post apocalyptic landscape building toward the final battle between heaven and hell. A must read!

This book is scary and awesome. It brings a new view to the end times. The characters are well developed and the story is suspenseful.
