Although the people interviewed all share the experience of leaving a full-time job to pursue something different, that ‘something different’ that they have chosen has manifested itself in varying ways. The stories include those who have moved into a different sector; gone freelance; launched their own business; created a portfolio career; or taken a leap of faith, not yet knowing what the next step would be.
As well as the stories themselves, Anna shares additional perspective from her own experience of leaving her corporate job and also coaching her clients through the process, drawing out key insights to help you create your own career transition story.
About the author
Anna Lundberg is the founder of One Step Outside, where she helps people around the world build businesses and create a lifestyle that allows them an unimagined sense of freedom, flexibility and fulfilment. Since leaving her corporate job in 2013, she’s now reimagining what success looks like and she’s passionate about inspiring and supporting others to do the same.
Anna built her professional career in beauty and luxury marketing, working with big brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Hugo Boss and Burberry. Today, she continues to write, consult and train businesses on how to build powerful brands and effective marketing strategies, and how best to implement these in their organisation.
As a coach, she now works individually with a select number of clients to help them ‘reimagine success’ in their personal and professional lives. She also runs a group programme where she supports professionals who want to take their One Step Outside the 9 to 5.
Anna is a confident speaker and workshop facilitator as well as a published writer, with articles appearing on online publications including Business Insider, Inc. Magazine and Thrive Global, and co-authoring the book How To Succeed In Your First Job.
