Joe always had a plan for the future. Not too much had gone to plan, nevertheless he’d had one. When he was boxing, he was going to be the Champ. He was a born sensation. He stood six feet four tall and weighed two hundred and twenty-five pounds, and he could box with the best of them. But that wasn’t what set him apart. Joe was naturally handsome. With his blonde hair, bluer than blue eyes and the physique of a Greek God, he was a fight promoter's dream. They quickly dubbed him Pretty Boy Joe Falcon.
After he lost the McLaine fight, he was going to be an actor. That was where he was headed when he ran into the bunch of crazy kids who called themselves The Brotherhood. It was The Brotherhood who crippled him. When he got out of hospital Joe knew what he wanted to do. He wanted to go back and take care of those crazy kids, and he was going to save Layla from her weird brother and her even weirder mother. Now Layla was dead, and so was his thirst for life.
Boxing and acting were no longer options for him. Surprisingly, he didn’t miss being a celebrity as much as he thought he would. Joe had more money than he knew what to do with, and he could do anything he wanted with his time. The big question for him was: What did he want to do?
That question was answered for him one night as he sat in a bar trying to get drunk. A young lad was hustling Pool when his victims turn on him. It was four against one and they were all bigger than the boy. It was none of Joe’s business until Layla suddenly appeared. ‘Can’t you help him, Joe?’
He knows she can’t really be there, but she is. He watched her die, but she seems so real. One thing he does know, he isn’t going to let her down again. He hurries over and rescues the boy. Now Joe knows what he is going to do with the rest of his life. He is going to help people who need him.
