During that time, she crossed paths with Jack amidst textbooks and aspirations. This meeting seemed harmless but would unravel into an eight-year nightmare of abuse, violence, and profound sorrow.

Important Addition to the Discourse

This book is an important part of current discourse on domestic violence in the US. The more first person accounts we have of these experiences, the less likely taboo and shame will keep a person in an abusive home environment. Knowing that others have gone through and survived similar relationships and traps can provide hope where none previously existed.
