Excellent resource for managers and employees alike!

Thoughtfully written and presented chapters loaded with personal stories, followed by a short section with challenges to help be a better asset to both your employer as a whole and most of all, a manager that will help their employees be better team players and assets to the company. Even for me, retired and a senior citizen, there were plenty of points to help me navigate today’s work environment.
Shawn narrates his book well, very engaging, and is easy to listen to. The wide range of topics are presented in an order that builds on what has been presented. Each chapter ends with a highlight of what was presented along with gentle challenges to help you search out your weaknesses and improve your management methods, or for those of us non-managers, suggestions to help you be a better asset to the folks that write your paychecks.
The presentation is well organized so that if you want to go back and review a specific topic it is easy to find. 5 thumbs up!

Leadership learning at its finest

This book is incredibly practical. I will be able to take what I have learned into my every day life of management.

I recommend this book for already established leaders and also for new leaders. For leadership of all different kinds. From management to parenting.

Chapter 15 -The Goods. This was my favorite chapter of the book. I listened to it twice. It taught me that I needed to find the “goods”on all of my employees. It opened my eyes to make sure that I let my employees know how much they mean to me as a leader.

A treat of this book is at the end of every chapter there was a secret. I enjoyed that.

Every evening, as I drove home from work, I would listen to this book and thought about how I will be using what I have learned.

As a manager of retail for over 20 years, I have found myself in a rut. I’ have been trying to use what I have been told and what I have learned in the past to manage employees in today’s society, but it has been a struggle for a few years now.

Listening to leadership secrets has gave me a renewal of myself as a leader. Because I learned old ways of thinking, but with new perspectives. This is a very good book.

Great way to learn to be a good leader

Whether you are learning to supervise others, need to improve on your management skills to become a good leader for your work team or just want a better idea on how a leader should be, Shawn’s book is a great way to learn. Shawn uses real life stories and situations to enlighten your understanding on how leaders should be. People of all ages would benefit from reading this book. Coaches, students, employees and employers need the lessons Shawn’s real life situations teach.
