Good but not perfect
This book is packed with great material... things that honestly every manager or aspiring leader should think about. Each trait is explored well, and you can tell the author cares about giving real insight, not just fluf.. . however... the structure felt off. Chapters felt kind of disconnected—like a collection of mini-lessons rather than a cohesive journey. I was sorta expecting a thesis-problem-conclusion kind of vibe or a more scientific throughline, and this didn’t really have that. Leadership is in the title, and yeah, it’s in there, but not always woven directly into the fabric of each chapter. Sometimes it just felt like great advice... but not always leadership advice. Also, the book comes out swinging with big names and while that might work for some, for me it was a bit much. I’d rather ease into examples than get smacked in the face with them. still very good... not perfect

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great Read for Anyone Who Wants to Lead
This book really opened my eyes to the difference between just managing people and truly leading them. Leader, Not a Manager breaks down what makes a great leader in a way that’s easy to understand and actually apply. The 17 traits covered in the book aren’t just theory. They’re real, practical skills that can help anyone build trust, communicate better, and inspire others.
What I really liked is how the book gives clear examples and actionable steps. It’s not just motivational talk; it’s filled with useful advice that makes you reflect on your own leadership style and how you can improve.
If you’re looking to step up as a leader and not just be another manager checking tasks off a list, this book is definitely worth reading. I highly recommend it!
