Lawrence Tipton lives in constant fear of bullying father, Raymond. Ray is disappointed his second child isn’t another doting daughter, to idolise and make him proud. Lawrence always suspected he was unwanted, but is certain he isn’t loved. His older sister, Janet, wanted a sister too, so Lawrence is gradually coerced into adopting a feminine role. What Janet doesn’t know is that her gay brother is not only happy to become Laura, but relishes the cross-dressing that this entails, at least until Ray finds out and disowns him. Homeless, and in search of true love and affection, Laura explores the world of gender-fluidity and cross-dressing, eventually leading to one unforgettable Christmas.
