Resumen del Editor

Annie and Hank have created a perfect life in Laguna Beach, but when a dark secret is revealed, will their marriage survive?

In high school, Annie Johns was the calm, supportive sidekick to the rest of the tumultuous female stars of the hit reality TV show, Laguna Nights. Today, she's living the happy life as a mom that she predicted on the show long ago. There's only one problem: the secret from her past that haunts her most nights, a secret that, if revealed, could ruin everything she shares with her husband, Hank, a man who saved her from the heartache.

Rush

What did you like best about Laguna Heights? What did you like least?

I liked Hank's and Donnie's characters the best. I also liked how the author described the chemistry between characters.

I didn't like the way the plot was just suddenly resolved without any details. It felt rushed and anticlimactic. I also didn't like Annie's secret. I found one of her actions in the first book to be disappointing, but the keeping of her secret in this one was even more so. She was such a nice character throughout the book that it made it difficult for me to believe she would do something so heinous to someone she loved.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The most interesting parts were the parts that took place at UCI ten years earlier. The least interesting parts were the present day scenes, primarily because they lacked the same level of detail.

What aspect of Madeline Mrozek’s performance would you have changed?

Her handling of male voices. They didn't sound that different from her female voices. Perhaps she could team up with a man and do dual narration. My favorite narrations are by a duo.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Probably not.

Any additional comments?

I think the story could have been much better if it weren't so rushed at the end. The author built some great suspense but then just kind of deflated it.

Alright

This does contain a few spoilers...

I really liked the story until it suddenly ended. I feel like this book would have been so much better if it continued and didn’t just stop randomly. It felt like the author got bored and wanted a way to wrap it up out of no where. It felt like it was set up for the climax to be when the stalker came back but it was the opposite. One little talk and the guys over stalking her after coming back years later. Such a weird way to end the story.
