In September 2017, President Donald Trump called North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un “Little Rocket Man” for his recklessness in firing rockets from his country to intimidate his neighbors and threaten the United States. In June 2018, Trump met with Kim Jong-un in Singapore in the first ever meeting between leaders of both nations agreeing on paper to a peaceful resolution on the Korean peninsula. Both met again in February 2019 in Hanoi, Vietnam without agreeing on a denuclearization deal.
Kim assumed power after his father’s death, Kim Jong-il in 2011and is the grandson of Kim II-sung who was the founder and first supreme leader of North Korea in 1948. Kim rules North Korea as a totalitarian dictator in the same line as his family lineage. In 2014, a report commissioned by the United Nations Human Rights Council concluded that the North Korean government systematically violated human rights including all freedoms of expression, religion, movement and deprivation of food. The U.N. Commission accused Kim and his government of extermination, murder, enslavement, torture, imprisonment, rape, forced abortions, sexual violence, persecutions and prolonged starvations of his people.
Kim is a brutal tyrant terrorizing his people for his own personal gain. Kim should be tried for crimes against humanity in an International Criminal Court. Economic sanctions need to be tightened against Kim and his corrupt government to force the collapse of his regime. The Kim family has destroyed North Korea for generations since the end of the Korean War. Kim has been testing hypersonic as well as long range ballistic missiles from North Korea, an extremely dangerous and reckless action by the dictator. Kim possess a threat to U.S. allies in the region and U.S. territories. The North and South Korea should be reunified ending the Kim tyranny and bringing freedom and democracy to all the citizens on the Korean peninsula. This is the Kim family legacy of death and tyranny.
